Durham, NC — April 9, 2013 – Sentinel Data Centers and DukeNet Communications announced today that DukeNet will build diverse network routes into Sentinel’s NC-1 data center to provide network solutions to Sentinel’s enterprise customers.
“The ability for enterprises to leverage multiple, best-in-class carriers is central to our business model,” said Sentinel Co-President Todd Aaron. “This relationship with DukeNet further bolsters our carrier roster and continues to distinguish our Durham facility as the sole carrier-neutral, enterprise-class data center in the region.”
Construction on Sentinel’s NC-1 facility in Durham began in late 2012, and the first phase of the facility will be commissioned in the second quarter of 2013.
Sentinel NC-1 is North Carolina’s first large-footprint multi-tenant data center. The facility will provide large enterprise users with dedicated, secure, customizable suites for IT infrastructure.
“Sentinel’s NC-1 facility will fill a void in this region for large, quality-sensitive enterprises seeking autonomous data center solutions,” says Mike Prendergast, senior vice president of sales and marketing with DukeNet. “We are excited about this partnership and honored to have the opportunity to connect Sentinel’s client base with our unique routes and robust network throughout the Raleigh/Durham market.”
