On Thursday June 25, AFCOM North Carolina hosted its Q2 education symposium on “Navigating the Cloud” at Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh, NC. Lead by Sentinel’s VP of Business Development and AFCOM NC Chapter President, Brian Baker, the day-long education symposium explored cloud computing best practices with subject matter experts from SAS, IBM, VelcoCloud and RISCNetworks.

“The conversation around cloud computing is shifting,” says Brian Baker, Sentinel Data Centers. “Corporations are no longer concerned about ‘if’ cloud computing is the right fit for them, but what solutions are best for their organizations and how do they get there?”

Each presenter covered the methodology and lessons learned from their own experiences in working within the cloud as well as analytics in support of improving cloud performance.

“The data center industry is constantly evolving” says Baker. “AFCOM events, such as this one, focus on helping data center industry professionals stay up-to-date on the newest insights, best practices, tools and resources to successfully manage today’s data center infrastructure.”
