NEW YORK, NY — Sentinel Data Centers, a leading owner, developer and operator of multi-tenant, and build-to-suit enterprise-grade data centers, announced today that it has recently leased and implemented over five megawatts of Transmission+, a high-availability, infrastructure-light power solution, to multiple tenants within its Somerset, NJ and Durham, NC facilities.

“Our leasing success with Transmission+ is a clear indicator of the growing demand among large data center users for more versatile data center solutions,” said Josh Rabina, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Sentinel Data Centers. “The ability to vary resiliency and cost on a workload by workload basis is clearly resonating with smart buyers of large-scale colocation services.”

Sentinel’s Transmission+ product was announced in mid-2015 as a complement to Sentinel’s baseline high-tier solutions, enabling tenants to optimize cost by granularly deploying mixed-resiliency loads within a single demised suite.

“We continue to see large enterprises searching for reliable, cost effective and flexible colocation solutions,” says Kelly Morgan, Research Director, 451 Research. “Products like Transmission+ give enterprise users the ability to strategically determine the needs of their infrastructure while positively impacting their bottom line. We anticipate colocation providers like Sentinel Data Centers to continue to develop high caliber solutions to meet the needs of today’s end users.”

Transmission+ is available at Sentinel’s 420,000 square foot NC-1 facility in Durham, North Carolina, and its 430,000 square foot NJ-1 facility in Somerset, NJ. The infrastructure-light solution is enabled by Sentinel’s unique utility architecture at each campus. Each facility maintains a dedicated, dual fed, transmission voltage substations on site, neither of which has experienced downtime since inception.
